To był najgorszy dzień na amerykańskich rynkach akcji od wyprzedaży z 5 sierpnia. Średnia Przemysłowa Dow Jones straciła 1,5 proc., S&P500 spadł o 2,1 proc., a Nasdaq Composite poszedł w dół aż o 3,3 proc. VIX, czyli tzw. indeks strachu wzrósł aż o 38 proc., najmocniej do rekordowej zwyżki z początku sierpnia.
Sierpień ostatecznie okazał się pozytywny dla Wall Street. W piątek indeksy rosły a przez cały miesiąc zdołały odrobić straty poniesione na skutek słabego raportu NFP. Dow Jones ustanowił nowy rekord a SP500 zbliżył się do poziomu ATH. Jedynie Nasdaq znajduje się nico niżej, co można tłumaczyć ostatnią lekką słabością akcji spółki Nvidia.
